Danni Watts-Jones, MD of DWJ Wealth Management Limited was shortlisted in the IoD Wales Director of the Year Awards 2017, which honour many of Wales’ most influential and motivational business leaders.
With 35 directors shortlisted across the awards’ 10 categories, which included three new categories this year – Finance Director of the Year, Director in Human Resources and Director in a Start-Up Business, Baglan-based Managing Director, Danni Watts-Jones of DWJ Wealth Management Ltd, was one of just six finalists from the Swansea Bay area who made the grade.
Danni has been shortlisted in the ‘Director in a Start-Up Business’ category. On hearing the news she said “I’m delighted to be shortlisted for this award. After branching out on my own just two years ago, it’s a wonderful acknowledgement of my new business and our staff. I’m looking forward to meeting the other finalists at what promises to be a great day for professional leaders from so many different sectors.”
Finalists represent a range of businesses from all parts of the country and will attend a lunchtime awards ceremony on Friday, May 19 in Cardiff, to celebrate their achievements.
She is up against other finalists, Anita Davies of Knotweed Support in Llanelli and Glyn Jenkins of Bastleford Engineering and Consultancy in Pembrokeshire in the same category.
The awards, now in their seventh year, have become an established highlight on the Welsh business calendar and celebrate business achievements and inspirational leaders across Wales while bringing all sectors of the business community together, irrespective of size, geography and longevity.
Danni was a runner up to the eventual winner in the Start-Up category, Glyn Jenkins from Bastleford Engineering and Consultancy in Pembrokeshire.
The event was well attended and a fantastic opportunity to meet such an eclectic mix of representatives and sectors from across Wales.
Celtic Manor owner Sir Terry Matthews was named IoD Chairperson Jean Church’s Director of the Year, while IoD Wales Director Robert Lloyd Griffiths’ accolade was given to Debra Barber, Managing Director at Cardiff Airport.
